Thinking about what you'll carry your day to day stuff in on the trip? Pacsafe makes theft-resistant purses, bags, and satchels.  They contain a wire mesh in the bag and cable in the straps to prevent theives from cutting them and getting access to your stuff.  You can look for them in many places, including Amazon.  You don't need to buy a special bag for the trip, but they are useful.
